Well, that’s your opinion but I think foundation and concealors can look very good on black skin if it’s the right foundation and concealor.

i think your skin is very pretty! so smooth and yes, clear. Im staring to think that foundations and concerlers dont look good on black skin for some reason…it always looks so cakey and obvious…i think we should focus on getting our skin flawless…

I have question. Do you used the Mederma cream or gel? I use the gel and was just wondering if there’s a difference.

sooo true. I’m spf 50 or above because my skin boils in the sun. i got my first real sunburn two years ago because I forgot to put it on my neck and (and I mean fiery red, hurting and peeling). i even went to the beach where i was the only black person in the group and I was the only person to bring sunscreen, which I found quite ironic.

Have you ever tried the Ambi for dark spots? And if so whats your take.

@seun0203: Yeah, but it doesn’t make them immune to getting skin cancer. Like NATURALJOOL said, everyone should protect their skin, no matter your shade. Darker people may be less likely to get sick, but they’re not immune to it.

I use Cetaphil with baking soda too. I use the bar soap though & I use their moisturizer.
Thanks for sharing these tips/product recommendations. And your skin is beautiful!

I take protection from the sun very seriously. I’m african american and I just lost my sister to skin cancer Feb 2009. We should always put on protection from the sun. There is a growing number of people with dark skin getting skin cancer.

I would caution against using fade creams, especially ones that contain hydroquinone such as Ultra Glow. Hydroquinone can cause liver and kidney damage and many fade creams contain mercury.

i dnt wanna seem rude but whats the point of having melanin (brown pigment) isnt it supposed to naturally protect against the sun ihave relatives in hot countries who dont use it and their skin is fine
